Accommodation in Mid-range lodge safari is in Lodges and sometimes in tented camps. The lodges and the tented camps are full service facilities with private rooms or cottages with private bathrooms and have restaurants and lounges. Some have swimming pools. Our Super Mid-range lodges/camps safari offers two to three-star services. It provides the bare essentials with some comfort quality. In addition to the comfort and hygiene essentials, the amenities for the guest are of a significantly higher quality. Safari lodges are larger, permanent structures built of brick and mortar. Lodges are smaller than hotels but have the same full amenities and similar facilities such as restaurants and swimming pools. The safari lodges range from three-star levels to ultimate five-star luxury.About our safari vehicles
On all our safaris we make use of specially designed and converted Toyota Land cruisers. We have put a lot of thought into adapting them to the rugged African bush, the rough conditions and the bumpy roads, providing maximum comfort and at the same time ensuring the best safari experience for our guests. Our safari vehicles have large sliding windows and pop-up roofs, offering excellent views and giving our guests fantastic opportunities for safe and undisturbed photography while on game drives. My husband and I recently returned from Tanzania after completing the 7-days Lemosho Route Kilimanjaro hike and five days of safari with Exceed Expectations Tours.
When choosing a company for both our Kilimanjaro hike and safari, I did extensive research comparing many companies’ costs, reviews, offerings, etc. Exceed stood out to me for a number of reasons including many positive reviews, very competitive prices, and the fact that the company is locally owned and operated in Tanzania, which was important to me. From the first time I contacted the owner, the communication was always incredibly quick (even with a 7-hour time difference I always received replies almost immediately) and very helpful. Over the course of several months while we planned our trip, Exceed was always so accommodating of any requests or questions that we had regarding renting equipment, how to get necessary COVID tests in country, and itinerary changes.
To start with our Kilimanjaro hike – the crew that accompanied us on the mountain was beyond incredible. Our two guides, Kanti and Elias, were amazing, and from day 1 were completely dedicated to making sure our climb was both successful and enjoyable. They kept us motivated and positive every day and we would not have been successful in our summit without their constant encouragement. Each night after dinner they gave us a briefing of what our next day would look like and checked our heart rate and oxygen levels to make sure we were staying healthy at altitude. In addition, our cook Priva and our five porters were such a great, fun group. Every night after getting to camp the crew would be laughing and talking together and it definitely spoke to how well they are treated by Habari. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience hiking Kilimanjaro!
For our five-day safari, Exceed Tours organized our entire trip to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Our guide and driver Living was exceptional and made our safari experience truly unforgettable. He was so knowledgeable and answered every question that we had about everything from animals and plants to history and culture. In addition, it was clear that he was very experienced and always knew where to go to make sure we had the best animal viewings. We saw everything we had hoped to and more, and definitely had many once-in-a-lifetime moments! All of our accommodations were also great and the staff at each location was above and beyond.
I cannot say enough good things about Exceed Tours. From airport pick-up to drop-off, everything was so smooth and well-organized we never had to worry about anything. We had such an amazing time in Tanzania, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wonderful, local company for Kilimanjaro and safari.
