We planned a three-week trip to Zanzibar and wanted to make our stay more diverse by adding a safari in mainland Tanzania.
Shortly after sending our inquiry, the team at Africa Safari Tours reached out with a fair and transparent offer, including all available safari options. The communication was excellent from start to finish – we received clear, detailed answers to all our questions, which gave us a great sense of trust and confidence when booking.
We chose the 3-day safari to Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve) – the best and most cost-effective option from Zanzibar.
The team took care of everything: hotel pickup, domestic flights, transfers, and safari accommodation – the whole experience was well-organized and stress-free.
On the day of departure, we were picked up on time at our hotel and brought to the domestic airport in Zanzibar. After a short 45-minute flight, we landed directly in the national park, which was already a fantastic experience. Upon arrival, our safari guide greeted us, and we headed straight into the park for our first game drive. The sunrise atmosphere was magical, and we spotted wildlife within minutes of driving.
In the evening, we arrived at Africa Safari Selous Lodge, a charming lodge that felt like a small village in the middle of the bush. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the overall atmosphere was very special.
Day two began with a guided bush walk followed by a boat safari, where we saw hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species. On day three, we enjoyed another full game drive before flying back to Zanzibar the next morning, where we were taken back to our hotel.
We had an incredible time in the breathtaking nature of the Selous Game Reserve and are deeply thankful to Africa Safari Tours for the amazing experience, the smooth organization, and the excellent support. Highly recommended!

Furthermore the entire trip was very well planned, everything from Airport pick-up to hotel . And we had 3 days Serengeti and Ngorongoro full of game drives and nice dinners and the beautiful hotels.

Truly incredible customer service and great value tours in Tanzania. Helped us summit Mount Kilimanjaro with a great team, Vincent and Valence as the best guides, and a very hard working team of porters to support. Our chef was brilliant as well, 3 hot meals every day. Amazing trek - couldn’t have asked for anything better. After the trek, Marco arranged a private 3 day safari in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Accommodation was fantastic, our guide, Dominic, was very knowledgeable and with great convections in the national parks to find the animals - can’t actually believe the value.
