About Travel For Change Africa
Travel For Change offers a unique blend of sustainable tourism as well as individually tailored affordable high-impact volunteering opportunities in East Africa. Our safaris are double-sustainable, because they benefit the communities through hosting our tours, and because part of our profits go directly towards the development of those communities in Kenya and Tanzania. Our tours can be tailor-made to each individual's preference
We booked 2 nights in Masai Mara (Mara North) because we heard that this was the best place in Kenya to see wildlife. We did not have much time and did not want to spend a lot of money, but we did want to have a good chance on seeing wildlife. Travel for Change advised to go to Masai Mara and it was a great trip!
We stayed in Loyk Mara camp and this was a great place. Great ambiance, nice tents, good food, and right in the nature(we woke up among many animal sounds which I have never heard before!) We also had a very interesting talk in the evening with one of the Masai people that work in the camp site. We asked him many questions about how the Masai live and he seemed to enjoy to explain everything to us.
A friendly lady from Travel for Change came to check on us when we met the safari driver and introduced us to the driver and the safari van. The vehicle was in good shape and the driver was very friendly and knwe a lot about all the animals we saw.
Next to all the different animals we saw we also enjoyed the beautiful landscape of the Mara (typical African plains as we had imagined).
We were surprised we could have this full, rich experience on just a small budget. Thank you Travel for Change!

During my stay in Kenya I came in contact with Travel For Change. I had a face to face conversation with Martha and we discussed my ideas and the possibilities. I had various ideas for a safari but also wanted to be gentle on the budget. Within a few days I received an offer I liked in my e-mail: a 4-day safari in Tsavo West National Park and Amboseli National Park for 3 persons. I took my parents with me.
The best things were the private driver and the accommodation Travel for Change Africa chose for us.
With the private driver and 4 days to spend we really had the time to explore and go our own way. The driver was very kind and knew all about the different animals we came across. He also tried his best to find as many animals as possible.
The accommodation was very well chosen. We got to experience both a safari lodge (Ngulia Lodge in Tsavo NP) and a tented camp (Kibo Safari Camp just outside Amboseli NP). Personally I liked the tented camp, Kibo, the most because camping felt more adventurous while it was still very comfortable.
To wrap up: My safari was one custom made but planning that was surprisingly easy with this operator. And good value for money, nice and skillful driver and nice accommodations.
