Kalahari Skies

I own or work for a safari company that offers tours in Africa

About me

Since 1994, Hemingway Safaris, originally founded by the family of the well known American writer-adventurer in 1983, is organizing safaris throughout Botswana, the jewel of Africa. The company is run by me and my wife, real African-bush lovers with over 18 years of experience in guiding people through the astonishing world we discovered and never left.

On our tours through the Kalahari, we meet with the last Bushmen/San in their habitat, we search for the famous black-mane Kalahari lions, enjoy the playful suricates, follow the descending vultures to a fresh kill and are marveled by the unforgettable sundowners.

Going to Moremi NP and Chobe NP, we try to show the highlights of Botswana’s nature parks: to find yourself in a herd of elephants, hearing the roar of the majestic lion, to look up to a giraffe, the tallest mammal on this planet or look up to an African fish eagle, crying its joy for everybody to hear, the list is endless and never bores !

As we promote the Botswana Government policy of “low Tourism volume impact” we have chosen to take only a maximum of 6 participants on every tour, the only exceptions being tailor-made trips for special interest groups: birders, universities, photographers,…

We really believe in personal service, close-feeling with the bush and the safari participants and have so over the years build up a growing group of regulars, friends and sympathizers of which many come back visiting several times.

We love to share with you “Africa”: no formalities, no hurry, no pressure, life like it is meant to be,

Join us, enjoy, and regret you didn’t found us earlier

My safari travel style: Middle of the road—I tend to stay in the main camps and lodges. It suits my budget and my preference for creature comforts, such as electricity and hot water.
