Day 1: Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Camp

The adventure officially begins on day one as you depart from Moshi. You will be driven to the Umbwe Gate (1,800m), the starting point of the Umbwe Route. After several hours of hiking, you'll reach the Umbwe Camp (2,900m) where you'll enjoy a well-deserved dinner and get a good night's rest.

After celebrating your accomplishment at the summit, then descent back to Barafu for a short rest, then continue your descent to Mweka Camp (3,100m) where you'll spend the night.
