Day 1: Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Camp

The adventure officially begins on day one as you depart from Moshi. You will be driven to the Umbwe Gate (1,800m), the starting point of the Umbwe Route. The trek through the dense rainforest presents challenging terrain with steep ascents. After several hours of hiking, you'll reach the Umbwe Camp (2,900m) where you'll enjoy a well-deserved dinner and get a good night's rest.

Day 2: Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp

Day two marks your journey to Barranco Camp at an elevation of 3,960 meters. The day's trek includes ascending the Barranco Wall, which is a challenging scramble. After celebrating your accomplishment at the summit, then descent back to Barafu for a short rest, then continue your descent to Mweka Camp (3,100m) where you'll spend the night.
