Kibale

Pick up from your hotel and drive westwards via Mubende with a stopover for Lunch. The drive continues past beautiful sceneries of tea plantations and the rolling hill of the crater region arriving Kibale forest park late afternoon. In the afternoon visit the crater lakes with a walk to the top of the world alternatively relax at the lodge. Approx. Kibale forest - Chimpanzee Tracking

Morning Chimpanzee Tracking: Kibale Forest is home to over 1,450 chimpanzees, with a habituated group at Kanyanchu since 1991. The tracking starts at 7 am with a briefing and ranger allocation at Kanyanchu Park offices. The search can last 2-4 hours, depending on the chimps' location. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Swamp, a community project with a 4.5km trail through the swamp, where you can spot various bird species and primates. Morning transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park with lunch en-route, and afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga channel will give you great views of several game including Hippos, Buffaloes, elephants and birdlife that queen Elizabeth National Park has to offer. Off the boat cruise and continue with and evening game drive in the park if time permits before returning to your lodge for an overnight. Morning game drive through Kasenyi plains to Katwe Kob mating grounds, with chances of spotting impalas, sitatungas, and lions. Visit the Katara Women’s Project, where paper is made from elephant dung, or opt for a lion tracking experience at an extra cost. Continue to Ishasha sector for lunch and an afternoon drive to spot tree-climbing lions. Ishasha is the largest sector of the park, rich in wildlife. Morning game drive in Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth N.P., searching for tree-climbing lions and other wildlife like impalas, buffaloes, elephants, and possibly a leopard. Afterward, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest N.P., along a scenic but bumpy murram road. Upon arrival, check in and rest before the gorilla trekking experience the next day. Approx. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest N.P. in south-western Uganda is home to over 400 mountain gorillas, half of the world’s population, along with 350 bird species and 400 plants. Gorilla trekking starts at 8 am with a briefing, followed by a 2-7 hour trek through the forest to find the gorillas. After gorilla trekking, Time permitting you may go for a community walk and visit the community conservation projects around the park. After morning breakfast head to Lake Mutanda for a canoe ride and community walk experience. Transfer to the Uganda-Rwanda border and finalize the immigration procedures before heading to the volcanoes national park for a cultural experience at Iby’Iwacu.
