Camping
Machame Camp (3010m) to Shira Camp

Today’s trek takes you through high moorland, with dramatic landscape changes. Pass beneath the Lava Tower and the Western Breach, reaching camp after a day spent at altitude (up to 4600m). Following the “walk high, sleep low” principle aids acclimatization. Distance: 10.8km / 6.7mi Time: ~8 hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Camping
Barranco Camp (3960m) to Karanga Ca
Today’s trek begins with a descent into the Great Barranco, followed by a steep climb up the Great Barranco Wall, a challenging but non-technical rock scramble. Traverse beneath the Heim and Kersten glaciers, then ascend to Karanga Camp (3963m). For acclimatization, an optional afternoon trek to 4200m is available before returning to camp. Distance: 5.5km / 3.4mi Time: ~5 hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Camping
Karanga Camp (3963) to Barafu Camp
After breakfast, trek to Barafu Camp (4640m), crossing barren scree slopes in a steep, challenging climb. Rest and hydrate in the afternoon to prepare for the summit push. Enjoy an early dinner and rest, as you’ll wake around 11pm-12am to begin your ascent to the summit. Distance: 3km / 1.9mi Time: ~3 hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Camping
Barafu Camp (4640m) to UHURU PEAK
Kilimanjaro
Summit day begins around midnight with a steep climb to the summit glaciers. Trek 4-5 hours on scree to reach Stella Point (5739m) at sunrise, with stunning views of ice cliffs and Mawenzi Peak. Continue to Uhuru Peak (5895m), Kilimanjaro’s highest point. Descend to Barafu Camp for breakfast, then proceed to Millennium Camp for a well-deserved rest. Distance: 13.4km / 8.3mi Time: 12-15 hours Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Camping
Trek Millennium Camp (3790m)
