Safari summary

This short tour allows one to focus mainly on wildlife viewing in form of game drives and walking safaris while enjoying some of the best accommodations and cuisines. This allows one to feel the tranquility of the lodges, at the same enjoying the privacy and flexibility of the activities. The tour starts at one of the renowned conservation organizations, primarily dedicated to large carnivore conservation. We will then spend 3 nights in Etosha National Park before returning to Windhoek. Founded in 1993, the AfriCat Foundation is primarily dedicated to conservation of large carnivores. The Foundation lies on a 22000-hectare Okonjima Private Game Reserve. We will learn more about Namibia’s carnivores and their fight for survival and the Human-Wildlife Conflict challenges that face both man and carnivore. Both Okonjima and AfriCat are dedicated to creating conservation awareness through environmental education at all ages and levels, rehabilitation and reintroduction programmes, and conducts constructive wildlife research. Okonjima Luxury Bush Camp offers flexibility of activities depending on one's energy. With internet access from your chalet, it is one's choice to enjoy both. After our stay at Okonjima Reserve and the experience, we will head to Ongava Private Game Reserve. This well-maintained and massive conservation area shares a border with the Etosha National Park. The "big Four" mammals include both species of Rhinos, Elephant, Lion and Leopard. At Ongava, very Mount Meru style tents offer tranquility, relaxation and reflection watching a nearby waterhole where anything is possible in terms of wildlife. Embarking on a walking safari is worthwhile for one to experience the finer details of the African bush.
