Day 1

Arusha | Tarangire

Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park In the morning you are picked up at your hotel in Arusha and start your tour towards Tarangire National Park after your safari briefing. The park is especially known for its big herds of elephants, their population is estimated at about 2.500 animals. With its 2.600 km², Tarangire National Park is about as big as Luxembourg. The natural scenery is influenced by huge baobabs, bush savannah and marshes and besides the numerous elephants you will also see Massai giraffes, gazelles and antelopes, buffalos, lions, leopards, baboons and diverse bird species. After interesting game drives you will leave the park in the afternoon and drive to your camp where you will spend the night.

Day 2

Ngorongoro Crater | Serengeti | Tarangire

Day 2: Tarangire National Park - Serengeti National Park After breakfast you drive towards Serengeti. You pass Karatu and drive through Ngorongoro Conservation Area past the Ngorongoro Crater. Soon you will be able to see the endless wideness of Serengeti. The southern Serengti is known for its grass savannahs that are marked by kopjes (rock formations). The landscape is ideal for their hunt, so especially big cats like cheetahs, lions and leopards live here. On your way to your camp at the Seronera area you will enjoy your first game drive through the famous Serengeti.

Day 3

Masai Mara | Serengeti

Day 3: Serengeti National Park The Serengeti is especially known for the annual big migration of hundreds of thousands gnus and zebras. In October and November, the animals normally move from Masai Mara in Kenya through northern Serengeti into the south to the Ndutu area. From May and June the animals go back through the western Serengeti into the north and further on to Masai Mara. Due to changing weather conditions and the related rain the migration might change. You will spend your whole day on game drives and will have the possibility to not only watch the big migration but also several other animals in their natural environment. Your guide knows the national parks and will lead you to best places to watch the animals. Information: Please note that you will spend two nights at Kati Kati Ndutu Camp when travelling from the beginning of January to Mid-March. The herds of zebras and gnus will be at the southern Serengeti or in the neighbouring area of Ngorongoro Conservation Area then. So staying at this camp during this time will increase your chances to watch the migration with your own eyes.

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater | Serengeti

Day 4: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro National Park After breakfast you leave towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On you way to the park gate you have the possiblity to watch the animals that you might haven't seen yet during the last days. After lunch you drive further to Ngorongoro Crater. You have some time to enjoy the fascinating view over the crater before you drive down into the biggest caldera world-wide. The natural scenery is influenced by grassy steppe and acacia woods and with its steep crater slopes offers a nice alternation to the endless wideness of Serengeti. The Ngorongoro Crater is part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage and impresses with its great animal abundance. With a little bit of luck you will see the Big Five - lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard - within only a few hours. After your game drives you leave the crater in the afternoon and drive further on to Karatu.

Day 5

Arusha

Day 5: Ngorongoro National Park - Arusha After breakfast you drive back to Arusha where you will arrive around noon. Here you safari ends, and you will either be brought to your reserved hotel in Arusha or to the airport.
