Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Your tour commences upon landing at the Cape Town International airport.You will be welcomed by a Lion Dog African Safari representative, holding up a sign displaying your party’s name then transferred to your hotel. Overnight at the Seamore Guest House(Standard Rm) (B). The Seamore Guest House(Standard Room )venue includes breakfast, free shuttle to local restaurants in the evenings, plus a Standard Day Tour each day inclusive of transfers. The Standard Day Tours include but are not limited to:  Cape Point and Pennisula Tour ,  Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch National Botonical Garden ,  The World Of Birds , Bo-Kapp Museum, Robben Island , Wine Land Tours, Cultural Tours, West Coast Tours, etc. Some of the Seamore Standard Tours have extra fees such as Robben Island Boat Trip, The Table Mountain Gondola fee, Wine Tasting and Cellar Entrance fees. Please note that the Standard Day Tours do not include Whale Watching, Shark Cage Dive, Skydiving, paragliding, Garden Route Tours etc, although these tours can also be arranged. 

Day 2

Day 2: Today is a standard tour of Robben Island, Table Mountain and Cape Town. The best views of Cape Town are from the top of Table Mountain. The cableway takes you to the summit in under 10 minutes whilst rotating gondolas to ensure that visitors enjoy a 360 degree view of Cape Town and Table Bay. Robben Island served as a place of imprisonment and today it is a World Heritage Site and museum. Some of the oldest and newest museums, as well as the Castle of Good Hope are found in the city centre. Overnight  at the Seamore Guest House(Standard Rm) (B).

Day 3

Day 3: Today you will take in a standard  Cape Peninsula Tour. Situated at the south-western tip of Africa, the Cape Point and Peninsula Tour encompasses the incredibly scenic Table Mountain Chain stretching from Signal Hill in the north to Cape Point in the south and the seas and beautiful coastline of the peninsula. Overnight again at the Seamore Guest House (Standard Rm) (B).  

Day 4

Day 4: Today you partake in a standard Cape Region Winelands tour. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or a lover of natural beauty you’ll be swept away on this wine tour to some of Cape Town’s famous wineries. This tour is a mixture of culture, historic villages, stunning scenery and fabulous wines. You will overnight once more at the Seamore Guest House (Standard Rm) (B). Cape Town Restaurants. Cape Town Is home to a wide variety of excellent restaurants presenting a range of cuisine from fresh Mediterranean flavors to exotic Asian spices. Local Cape Malay dishes are generally well priced and are often run by internationally trained chefs. Local fare is plentiful as well. Cape Town Night Life. Day 5

Day 5:Today you will be picked up from your venue in Cape Town with a private vehicle and English speaking driver/guide. You will drive through stunning and scenic countryside with brief stops at such towns such as Worcester . Later in the day your party is scheduled to visit Cango Ostrich Farm. Overnight in Oudtshoorn at the DeOpstal Country Lodge . (B)

Day 6

Day 6: The day starts off with a brief tour of the astonishing Cango Caves then it’s a drive over the mountains to spend time at the wonderful Knysna Elephant Park . The better part of the evening is spent on the Paddle Cruiser for a lovely sunset cruise and dinner. Overnight at the Falcons View Manor . (B) At the Knysna Elephant Park, the resident family of African elephants and world-class guides will unravel the sad and mystical story of the Knysna forest elephants. The Park offers a rare and exciting opportunity to get close to these gentle giants, who live in a controlled, free-range environment in the heart of the famous Garden Route.

Day 7

Day 7: Animals figure prominently today with visits to the Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre, the Birds of Eden and Monkeyland.Overnight at Tasala Tree Top Lodge. (B)

Day 8

Day 8: Your  party will start the day with a visit to the unique Tsitsikamma National Park  with a scheduled  Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour . Afterwards your party is driven to the Port Elizabeth airport for a flight to Johannesburg where you will overnight at the Southern Sun OR Tambo Airport Hotel.( No Meals )  TANZANIA

Day 9

Arusha | Kilimanjaro

Day 9 :  Today you will take the free shuttle back to the Johannesburg airport to connect with your outbound flight to the Kilimanjaro airport in the country of Tanzania, via Nairobi. Upon arrival you will be welcomed by a Lion Dog African Safari representative, holding up a sign displaying your last name, then transfer to Arusha. Rest up relax and overnight at the Mt. Meru Game Lodge The Mt. Meru Game Lodge, is situated in a Game Sanctuary which provides many of its visitors with their first exciting game viewing experience. The Game Sanctuary in which the lodge is situated is unique to the Arusha area. It is complimented by mature and carefully tended gardens which are home to many species of wildlife and a variety of birds. 

Day 10

Lake Manyara | Serengeti

Day 10: Today you will be collected by your driver/guide in your own private vehicle and commence your safari of the Northern Park Circuit, the best combination of game parks in the world. Guests are provided a professional English speaking guide driving a specially outfitted 4WD drive vehicle with a pop up roof to allow clients to stand up and view the scenery and wildlife in every direction. Guests will be spoiled by the scenery of tribal villages, the Rift Valley Escarpment, alkaline lakes, extinct and active volcanoes, the endless plains of the Serengeti , kopjes, riverine; and close up encounters with an abundance of African wildlife. A sighting of the “big five “is almost assured. Prepare to be amazed, and always have your camera ready. At the end of each day, you will be treated to fascinating assortment of camps providing great meals and hospitality. Your first day of safari is of Lake Manyara Park. Stretching for 50km along the base of the 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. A narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favored haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants & provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. Day 11

Day 11: Today you enter into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and safari Ndutu. Encounters with the Maasai are common in this region. They are renowned for their bright dress, bead work and legendary ceremonies. There are lots of resident game animals in the Ndutu. All six species of cat can be found year round in this area: Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Serval, African Wildcat and Caracal, some easier to spot than others! The diverse eco-systems, from woodlands, to plains, to soda lakes, within the Ndutu area make it a unique place for bird watching. Overnight at the Lake Masek Tented Camp (BLD)

Day 12

Serengeti

Day 12: Another safari day of the Ndutu Region. On these plains, in January or February, there is a three week window in which the wildebeest cows will congregate to give birth, in an extraordinarily coordinated bout of calving. The intention is to overwhelm the predators by sheer numbers when the young calves are at their most vulnerable so, as you'd expect there is lots of lion, hyena and cheetah action during this time. Overnight at the Lake Masek Tented Camp (BLD). Day 13 : Today you will enter into and safari The Serengeti, the mother of all game parks. Experience one of the oldest eco systems known to man, where little has changed for thousands of years. Eventually you will enter into the central region of the Serengeti. The central Serengeti is home to the beautiful Seronera valley. Several perennial rivers run through this valley enabling many resident animals to thrive year round. The combination of location and resident prey attracts the largest populations of predators in Africa. Overnight at the Kenzan Camp (BLD) Day 14: Today is another day safari of the central Serengeti, also referred to as” Cat Central” and home to the big territorial cats. The largest pride of resident lions and cheetahs are found in central part of the Serengeti year round, lazing around the many clusters of Kopjes (rock outcrops). You will continue your safari into the southern region of the Serengeti. Overnight at the Kenzan Camp (BLD) Day 15. : Today you will exit the Serengeti, then re-enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will transfer, rest up and overnight at the Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge  (BLD). 

Day 16

Ngorongoro Crater | Serengeti

Day 16 : This morning you will descend over 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, the eighth wonder of the World. This  vast caldera offers you some mind blowing views from the crater rim to the grassy floor 600 meters below, and is the center piece of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, an extension of the Serengeti national park where Maasai pastoralists still herd their cattle amidst herds of big game. The crater also forms a natural sanctuary within a sanctuary, providing refuge to the world’s densest lion and hyena populations, some seriously impressive tuskers and the endangered black rhino. You will exit the crater mid-afternoon with the option to partake in a guided Ngorongoro Hike and take in the surrounding scenic area. Overnight again at the Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge  (BLD) ZANZIBAR

Day 17

Day 17 : And now for something completely different and a wonderful way to end your safari. Today your party will transfer to one of the local airstrips where a plane will whisk you away to the beautiful and exotic archipelago of Zanzibar landing on the main island of Unguja.You will be welcomed at the airport by a Lion Dog African Safari representative holding up a sign with your last name on it and transferred to your hotel in Stone Town. Overnight at the Dhow Palace Hotel (SV) The Dhow Palace was originally the home of a rich merchant and is located right in the heart of Stone Town. It has bore witness to goods and treasures shipped to and from Zanzibar for hundreds of years and is known as a living museum with décor and artifacts from a time gone by. In Stone Town, we only provide breakfast so you have the freedom to wander away from the hotel and choose to eat at any number of restaurants. This link describes some of the more popular Stone Town Restaurants. Some of the Stone Town spots for night life that might appeal to the tourists include but are not limited to; Africa House Hotel which has the Sunset Bar to enjoy a beverage while the sun sets. The Livingstone is a terraced seafront bar with good music playing other than on Friday evenings. Mcheza Sports Café is a bar with a number of TV’s to watch sports. Mercuy’s is a seaside bar with good food and beverage selection with occasional live music. Dharma Lounge which is a small unpretentious bar with extended hours.

Day 18

Day 18: An English speaking guide will meet you at your hotel and take you out for a scheduled half day Stone Town Tour. You will tour the David Livingstone house of Wonder, the Palace Museum, Slave Market, the central market, while making your way through Stone Town’s narrow winding streets lined with various enterprises. The City Tour is a great way to get your bearings so you have a clue where to head out on your own afterwards. Overnight at the Dhow Palace Hotel (SV) 

Day 19

Day 19 : Zanzibar is also called the Spice Island. A Spice Tour  is scheduled for the first half of the day. The tour consists of visiting a spice plantation where various spices are plucked from the trees and bushes with explanations given on the spices. Traditional lunch is served and spices area available for purchase. Later on you will transfer to to Nungwi Beach, Unguja’s best beach in low and high tides. Overnight at the  Z Hotel Beach Resort(Sea View). Only breakfast is typically included in your beach stay giving you the freedom to venture out for lunch and dinner at the various other restaurants. Day 20

Day 20 to 23 : These are free beach days to do as little or as much as you please. Kick back and dip your toes in the warm Indian Ocean, or partake in a few of the beach activities listed below. Nungwi beach optional activities include snorkeling, Kite Surfing At Sazani Beach , Sunset Dhow Cruise , kayak as well as para-sailing, windsurfing, water skiing and paddle skiing available at other nearby beaches. Serious scuba divers tell us they prefer using Spanish Dancers Diving because they use boats with roofs. Certain activities can be arranged ahead of time or with front desk of resort. Overnight both nights at the Z Hotel Beach Resort(Sea View).

Day 24

Day 24 : Today your journey ends with a transfer to the Zanzibar International airport to connect with your onward flight. End of program…no end to the memories!
