Day 1
Virunga
Day 1 Meet on arrival by your Driver Guide at Kigali Airport> Warm welcome awaits you at Kigali International Airport by your Guide, proceed to Musanze town, the second largest town with a stunning backdrop scenic mountains. We will proceed to Ruhengeri area to Musanze Town the second largest town in Rwanda, with its stunning backdrop of three volcanic mountains -The Virungas.
Day 2
Virunga | Volcanoes
Day 2 Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park> An early wake up – approx. 5am! In readiness for eagerly awaited event of the day and drive to Kinigi; the base of gorilla tracking and main Rwanda highlight of your trip! You will meet your guides for the day. After completing our Park formalities, we are embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long lost cousin. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wild life experiences on earth. You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of Virunga is a magical experience. These massive primates are extremely rare, with less than 700 living today. We encourage for your own enjoyment to make sure that you are perfectly fit and healthy.
Day 3
Virunga | Volcanoes
Day 3 Golden Monkey tracking in the Volcanoes National Park> This day is set out for Golden Monkey tracking in the Volcanoes National Park returning to Musanze in good time for lunch. Drive on the twin lakes of Bulera Ruhondo-These beautiful lakes located at the base of volcano Muhabura and close to the border with Uganda. They are surrounded by steps hills and large waterfalls with a backdrop of the Virunga volcanic mountains. These twin lakes are great spots to be visited and used to be referred to as neglected gems but things have changed and Bulera and Ruhondo are a place not worth missing on. Their deep blue waters ringed by steep hills and tall waterfalls with the outlines of the nearby Virunga Volcanoes provide a spectacular backdrop and later drive back to the town arriving at your Hotel.
Day 4
Day 4 Kigali City tour and transfer to KGL for flight to Tanzania> After breakfast be transferred back to Kigali for a city tour of one of the friendliest African Capitals – Kigali! We will take you to Kigali Memorial center and show you other highlight of Kigali. Afterwards transfer to Kigali Airport where you board a plane for Tanzania. Tanzania: On
Day 1
Arusha
day 1 in Tanzania our driver will pick you up at the airport or city, depending on your place of arrival and take you to hotel in Arusha. Dinner and overnight at lodge/campsite according to the type of accommodation options requested.
Day 5
Arusha | Tarangire
Day 5 Arusha to Tarangire National Park> Depart from Arusha at 8am and drive to Tarangire National Park. We will begin the game viewing at the richest vista of an endless golden savannah. You will see the Tarangire River with Baobab trees all along the river-banks. This is a well established view point, where game can be viewed ambling to and from the river throughout the day. Thousands of animals migrate from Maasai steppe to Tarangire River looking for water. You might be able to see three rare species of animals; the Greater Kadu, the Fringe-eared Oryx as well as a few Ashy Starlings. Picnic lunches will be set on some of the picnic sites in the proximity of wildlife. Dinner and overnight at lodge/campsite according to the type of accommodation options requested.
Day 6
Serengeti
Day 6 Karatu to The Serengeti> After breakfast, we will start our drive past the unique and gorgeous Ngorongoro Conservation Area via the famous Oldupai Gorge also known as “The Cradle of Mankind” to the Serengeti National Park. The gorge lies on the same spot where once lay an ancient lake, which was covered by thick layers of volcanic ash, which carefully preserved the world's earliest records of mankind. This extremely important prehistoric site was discovered by Louis and Mary Leakey and the exhibitions from different periods in its history are on display in the Oldupai Gorge Museum, located on the gorge’s rim. Our visit will also include the famous Maasai bomas, where you will be able to meet the Maasai people and get to know their culture and habits. Upon entering the Serengeti National Park for your game drive, the most intriguing and yet amazing African landscape rolls before your eyes. Here you will experience African wildlife in all its glory. Overnight in the heart of the Serengeti National Park.
Day 7
Serengeti
Day 7 Serengeti National Park> At 6 am we will start the sunrise game drive. You will be accompanied by the melodic singing of the birds while searching for leopards and lions hunting for their morning meal and calm hippos, returning to their watery homes with their family. We will return to the campsite or lodge, where we will enjoy a late breakfast at 9 am. We will continue our game drive at 10:30 am and stay in the wilderness for the rest of the day. Our safari drive will continue according according to the time of year and we will follow the animals on their trail. Dinner and overnight in the heart of the Serengeti National Park according to the standard and the type of accommodation requested from our options.
Day 8
Ngorongoro Crater | Serengeti
Day 8 Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater Rim> After breakfast, we will start with a morning game drive thru the Serengeti National Park and then head towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The highlight of the expedition will be a game drive in the Serengeti. As far as the eye can see, thousands upon thousands of animals in herds, wildebeests and zebras migrating together, tall and graceful giraffes, jumping antelopes and gazelles, the powerful African elephant and the most respected group of animals: the predators. You will be able to spot lean cheetahs and shy leopards, foraging hyenas, and last but not least, the king himself; the lion. While game viewing, we will proceed with picnic lunches Dinner and overnight on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater according to the standard and the type of accommodation requested from our options.
Day 9
Ngorongoro Crater
Day 9 Ngorongoro Crater> After breakfast, we will proceed to Ngorongoro crater for a full-day game drive, the crater is one of the 8th natural wonders of the world. From the comfort of your open-top vehicle, descending down into the crater, you will enjoy amazing panoramic view and if you are lucky, you will see the Big five. The caldera exhibits more than 120 species of mammals. We will also visit saline lakes such as Lake Magadi, which is a magnet for flamingos and other water birds. We will also see pools full of hippos, the endangered East African black rhino as well as birds such as the secretary bird, the white stork arriving from Europe during the wet season and kori bustards, crowned cranes and ostriches. It is for sure a landscape of sheer beauty. Another big drawing card to this picturesque park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which can require the trained eye of your guide to spot.
Day 10
Arusha | Lake Manyara
Day 10 Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha> Depart after breakfast to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing and picnic lunch. We will enter Lake Manyara National Park, a photographers paradise for game viewing. Expect to see a park teeming with wildlife including the famous tree climbing lions resting in acacia trees. From your vehicles, you will have a marvelous view of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, sparkling in the sun. We will then drive for about two hours back to Arusha, passing through the agricultural and fresh produce market town of Mto Wa Mbu, situated next to the entrance of the Lake Manyara National Park. The town is a souvenir hunters paradise.
