Itinerary
Day 1
Moremi | Okavango Delta
Day 1 & 2 – MAUN – MOREMI WEST Upon arrival at Maun airport you will be met by our representative & your guide and driver. From here you will game drive to your campsite. This area is in the heart of the Okavango Delta. An alternative, is the add on Scenic flight option (extra cost) – in which a Cessna Airplane will take you into the Okavango Delta (roughly 45 minutes) over the Okavango Waterways and drop you at an airstrip where we will collect you. Overnight camping in Moremi Game Reserve for two nights. If adding on Boat or Mokoro trips, these will be done here. (at extra cost) (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included). Distance Maun to Moremi 140km or 45 minute flight
Day 3
Moremi
Day 3 – MOREMI WEST – MOGOTHLO Today we will travel through the northern part of Moremi Game Reserve passing through the Mopane forest of the Reserve. We exit Moremi into the Khwai Community area just north of the Khwai River that forms the northern border of Moremi Game Reserve. We will enjoy lunch on route. We will reach our campsite in the early afternoon and prepare ourselves for our first night drive. There are no fences around the parks, so the animals roam freely in and out of the parks. This is the only area where we can conduct night drives. This opens up a new insight into the wonderful natural world. Here we can see many nocturnal animals normally not seen during daylight hours. Overnight camping in the Mogothlo area. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included). Distance Moremi West to Mogothlo 80km Travel time 6 hours
Day 4
Chobe
Day 4 & 5 – MOGOTHLO - SAVUTI/ZWEI ZWEI Our journey continues north to Savuti/Zwei Zwei in the Chobe National Park. We will have lunch on route. On our game drives in the area we also discover the very interesting history of this area. The Savuti Marsh is situated near the Magwikhwe Sand Ridge, which forms part of the ancient shoreline of an enormous Inland Sea, which was formed in the area an estimated 2-5 million years ago. Situated close to this ridge/shoreline are the Savuti Hills (“kopjes”) where we can find Bushman paintings on the vertical rock faces. Overnight camping in the Savuti/Zwei Zwei area. Day 6
Chobe
Day 6 & 7 – SAVUTI/ZWEI ZWEI – CHOBE RIVER FRONT Today we travel further north through Chobe National Park exiting the park at Khoga gate and then through the Chobe Forest Reserve. On route we will travel through several African villages where the main focus is still on subsistence farming. On route we will enjoy a picnic lunch. After lunch we will game drive all along the Chobe River to our camp site. On the second day we will wake up to an early morning breakfast and set out for a game drive all along the Chobe River front. The Chobe National Park is famous for its abundance of elephants – the highest concentration of elephants to be found in Africa! It is also famous for its huge herds of buffalo and for its spectacular sunsets! Overnight in Chobe National Park tented camp. If you wish to add on a Chobe Boat Cruise (extra cost) this will be done here. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included). Distance to Savuti/Zwei Zwei to Chobe River 140km Travel time 6 hours
Day 8
Victoria Falls
Day 8 – CHOBE NATIONAL PARK – VICTORIA FALLS After an early breakfast, we transfer by vehicle to Victoria Falls.
