Amboseli | Kilimanjaro | Nairobi
Day 1: Nairobi / Amboseli National Park: Pick up from the airport or Nairobi Hotel in the morning. Drive to Amboseli arriving for lunch. Enjoy afternoon game drives until 1800 hrs. Here you can see Buffalos, Lions, Zebras, Cheetahs, Gnus, Jackals, Spotted Hyenas, Warthogs, among others. It’s also home to the largest herds of Elephants that you can see anywhere in Africa. The snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro is also visible on a clear day with the swamps and marshes being home to hundreds of bird species. Overnight stay at Amboseli Serena Lodge / similar.
Day 2
Amboseli | Tsavo
Day 2: Amboseli / Tsavo West: After breakfast, check out end drive to Tsavo West. Enjoy en route game viewing as you head to your lodge. Lunch, followed by afternoon game drives. Besides amazing wildlife sightings, some other highlights here include the Mzima Springs which is one of the leading attractions. Tsavo West is more mountainous and wetter than its counterpart, with swamps, Lake Jipe and the Mzima Springs. It is known for bird life and for its large mammal’s e.g. black rhino, Cape buffalo, elephant, gerenuk, leopard, hippo and lion. There are also other smaller animals that can be spotted in the park, such as the bush baby, hartebeest, lesser kudu and Maasai giraffe. Overnight stay at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge / similar.
Day 3
Tsavo
Day 3: Tsavo West / Tsavo East National Park: After early breakfast, check out and enjoy en route game viewing as you depart for Tsavo East. Lunch at you lodge followed by afternoon game viewing. Tsavo East is noted for its vast elephant herds and a variety of game including buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, zebra and plains game of almost every kind. The slightly larger Tsavo East is generally flat, with dry plains across which the Galana River flows. Other features include the Yatta Plateau, The Mudanda Rock and Lugard Falls. Overnight stay at Ashnil Aruba Lodge / similar.
Day 4
Nairobi | Tsavo
Day 4: Departure: After breakfast, depart for Voi town. You will board your morning Standard Gauge Railway train for a scenic ride through Tsavo West and onwards back to Nairobi. The journey, although on a more modern rail, takes you through the original route of the famous “Lunatic Express” which was built from 1896 to connect the port of Mombasa to the rest of Kenya, all the way to Uganda. Safari ends in Nairobi SGR Station.
