Itinerary

Nairobi – Nanyuki

Pick up from Hotel/Airport and leave for Ol Pejeta Conservancy with a stopover at The Equator crossing; this is an imaginary line that divides the earth into 2 hemispheres: north and south. Arrive in good time for lunch and rest at the camp. In the afternoon, head for a game drive; with a visit at Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary where the orphaned and abused chimpanzees are taken care. Dinner and overnight at the Sweet waters Serena.

Nanyuki – Old Moses Camp

Breakfast, road transfer to Timau. Here you meet with your crew and after introductions you will begin your first hike of the Mount Kenya climb. Walk for three hours over a distance of nine kilometers where you will pass through dense rain forest. En route, you will enjoy a picnic lunch, before continuing to make your way to Old Moses, which stands at 3,300 meters. Enjoy dinner in the evening at your camp.

Day 3: Old Moses to Shipton

After breakfast at your camp, you will set off once again for the day. Today, you will be hiking through a moorland where you will see a different kind of flora from yesterday's hike. You will walk through Liki Valley, then along Mackinder's Valley before arriving at Shipton camp, which stands at 4,200 meters. In the evening you will enjoy dinner there.

Shiptons Camp

Full day acclimatization at Shiptons Camp at 4200m. The night will be spent at the Shiptons Hut at the end of the Mackinders Valley with the 3 peaks Batian, Nelion and Lenana towering above you.

Shiptons - Austrian Hut

Climb round the peaks of Nelion and Batian. Two screes up to 4600m will have to be passed. Cross Lewis glacier to the base of t of Nelion & Batian peaks for ascend of Nelion and Batian Peaks then back to Austrian Hut for overnight.4780m

Descend down to the Sweet waters where you will spend the night.

After breakfast depart by road for Nairobi arriving early afternoon, lunch at Carnivore Restaurant before drove off at the Nairobi City hotel or Airport.
