Kigali
Kigali
Located at Rwanda’s geographical heart, the rapidly growing city of Kigali is not only the national capital, but also the country’s most important business centre and main port of entry. The city is built in hilly country, sprawling across about four ridges and the valleys in between. The city centre is lo-cated on one of these ridges, with the main government area on another. Kigali City retains the feel of a garden city, with a satisfyingly organic shape dictated by the verdant slopes over which it sprawls. The compact, low-rise city centre surrounds a busy, colourful market, and is studded with souvenir stalls display-ing a wide range of local crafts. The Muslim quarter abutting the city centre is well worth a visit, and one can also explore the network of leafy avenues that wind out of the town centre into the surrounding residential suburbs.

Serengeti
The Serengeti is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania’s parks and undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. With countless predators including lion, cheetah and leopard, more than two million wildebeest, half a million Thomson’s gazelle, and a quarter of a million zebra, it has the greatest concentration of wildlife on our planet. The wildebeest and zebra moreover form the star cast of a unique spectacle – the annual migration. Between late December and March, you will be able to witness the great migration of more than 1 million wildebeest and zebra during the spectacular calving season. Between May and July you might be lucky to witness the fascinating spectacle of thousands of Wildebeest and Zebras crossing the crocodile infested Grumeti River together with their new born. From August to October, they move to the remote Northern Serengeti crossing the Mara River which is equally populated with giant Nile crocodiles.

Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Crater
Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Crater
Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park is stunningly beautiful. In the heat of the day, the famous tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara might be seen stretched on the branches of flat-topped acacia trees. Enjoy the lovely views of the lake which attracts more than 400 species of birds, including flamingos and pelicans. Watching elephants, buffalo, and hippo in one of the mud pools provides for some wonderful safari moments, and the backdrop of the escarpment adds a spectacular component to the scenery.
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the natural wonders of the world; its spectacular rim is constantly in view as you search for wildlife on the crater floor. The plains and swamps are home to a wide variety of animals, and sightings of the Big Five — lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard — are frequent. The conservation area is also home to the Masai people and their cattle, which co-exist with the existing wildlife in a unique ecosystem.
