Southern Tanzania -Selous and Kondoa Irangi: This trip takes you to the southern circuit visiting Selous and Kondoa Irangi. It will start from Dar es Salaam – ending in Arusha.

From Dar es Salaam our first destination will be Selous game reserve. Then followed by Dodoma, Kondoa, and Arusha national park at the end. Where you will spend time doing game drives in the park visiting Momella lake and Ngurdoto crater, and also a walking safari in the jungle. The walking safari is for two hours assisted by the park armed range.

DAR - SELOUS GAME RESERVE

Nyerere (Selous)

Drive to Selous game reserve, now known as Nyerere National Park. Arriving by afternoon (5-6hours drive). drop off the cook, camping gears and bags at the campsite. picnic lunch, then drive to the park for short game drive. Evening sunset boat safari in the mighty Rufiji River. Encounter crocodiles & hippos in good numbers. More than 300 hundred species of birds recorded in Nyerere N. Park. This is typical Miombo woodland, & birdlife supported by Rufiji swampland is particular of interest.

Full day of game drives in the heart at Selous with packed lunch. Visit the famous Selous grave, hot water springs & Tigalala area. Experience authenticity & the beauty of African wildlife in Selous game reserve, the largest reserve in Africa hosting a big number of elephants, Selous is untamed, full of wild animals including wild dogs which are not easily seen in the Northern Tanzania Parks. See Buffaloes, Zebras, Greater kudus, Eland, bush back, impalas & baboons. Return to the camp.

Transit to Morogoro town view of Uluguru mts. and drive on to stay the night in Dodoma town. This is an interesting drive passing through several local villages. Beautiful views of the Uluguru Mountains and African landscapes. Brief stop at Morogoro town for leg stretch and drinks. Drive on to Dodoma located in central Tanzania. Picnic lunch along the way. Evening free in town.

DODOMA-KONDOA

Dodoma to Kondoa and visit the Rock art paintings. Sleep Babati Town. Early breakfast, drive to Kondoa Irangi. Kolo area where the famous rock paintings are found. A local guide will give a brief talk about the Historical background of the rock paintings which still hold cultural significance to the local communities. Picnic lunch. Later in the day drive to Babati town.
