Lengishu is an exclusive-use family home offering unparalleled luxury accommodation in Laikipia at the heart of Kenya’s 32,000 acre Borana Conservancy, the country’s newest and most successful rhino sanctuary.
Nestled into a ridge with stunning views across the Laikipia plains and deep into the Northern Frontier, Lengishu is a luxury home for up to 12 guests, offering sustainable tourism and safari adventures in one of Kenya’s leading wildlife destinations.

Lengishu is located approximately 15 minutes’ drive from Borana airstrip and has its own helipad.

In order to enhance your time at Lengishu, we create bespoke itineraries which make the most of this fantastic country.

The Suguta Valley is beautifully remote. A scenic flight will take you over this hugely diverse landscape, weaving along rivers into the arid North that needs to be seen to be believed. Before returning to Lengishu for dinner, a stop at Reteti elephant orphanage is highly recommended. This is a community owned and run project at the foot of the Matthews Mountains.

Another option is to fly to the Kipsing River, in Northern Kenya, before embarking on a quad biking adventure with L’Attitude Adventures where you can spend a night at their well-appointed lightweight camp under the stars.

Once back on the conservancy, horseback safaris offer a different perspective to traditional game viewing. There are two stables on Borana Conservancy which cater to all levels of experience. One horse ride per guest is included within our rates.

There is a wildlife corridor through the Ngare Ndare forest connecting Borana Conservancy to Mount Kenya, a world heritage site and Africa’s second highest peak. The forest has a canopy walk at 40 feet above the ground, from which you can enjoy life in the trees, along with a swim in shimmering blue pools which are fed by glacial melt water from Mt Kenya. This activity is usually enjoyed with a picnic lunch and takes place from mid-morning to mid-afternoon.

After a day of exploring, walk to nearby Pride Rock, the now famous site so-named by the Disney production crew who visited Borana to seek inspiration for the original Lion King film. Enjoy a sundowner here and take in the sweeping panoramic views over the conservancy.
