Uganda | Transfer To Guest Hous

Arrival in Uganda, you will be picked by our Kubwa Five Safaris representative with your name printed on an A4 paper from Entebbe International Airport at and be transferred to guest house. On this trip you will have climbing adventure for Rwenzori Mountains, trek the mountain Gorillas, and Chimpanzees. You will also have breathtaking game drives and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dinner and overnight at Cycad Entebbe Guest House.

Transfer To Bwindi

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have a stop at the Equator in Masaka, see where this imaginary line divides our planet into two equal hemispheres. Snacks, souvenirs and photographs may be taken here. You will have lunch on the way; you will reach in Bwindi between 1pm and 2pm, check in your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Ruhija Gorilla Friends Resort Campsite.

Gorilla Trekking, Birding

After breakfast, prepare for gorilla tracking adventure which begins at 8:00am with a briefing. We will then be guided into the jungle to track the shy primates. Gorilla trekking may take 3 to 7 hours but it is well worth the effort. It’s advisable to bring along a rain jacket and hiking boots. At the end of this long and exciting adventure, return to the lodge for a well-deserved shower. Have your lunch and thereafter you will head out for a community walk where you will visit the Batwa.

Travel To Queen

After breakfast, you will be driven to Queen Elizabeth National park is your next destination. On arrival, you will go for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. Some of the best wildlife viewings are done on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, passing squacco herons, pied kingfishers, large numbers of buffalo and hippo, basking crocodiles and very many different bird species and large mammals. Morning Game Drive

Depart at 6:00am for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park aiming to catch the lions hunting in the morning. Lions usually hunt as the day dawns since the temperatures are cooler. We also expect to see the Uganda kob, elephants, buffalo, warthog, leopard and waterbuck. After the morning game drive, your driver guide will drive you to Kasese, you will check on your hiking gears and we shall make sure you have got hiking gears of your choice that fits you.

Mitunga gate (1615m )

After breakfast at 8:00am, your guide and porters will pick you from the hotel and start the journey to Rwenzori Mountains National Park at Nyakalengija gate at about 1.615m. Your Kubwa five safaris representative mountain guide will brief you then begins the hike by passing through farmland to the park boundary beyond which it follows a thick forest along the Mubuku River, crossing its Mahoma River tributary. Hike duration: 6 -7 hours. Elevation height: 1,036m.

Nyabitaba Hut.

Nyabitaba (2651m)

From Nyabitaba follow the trail that drops down through the forest to the Kurt Shafer Bridge. Passing through the bamboo forest, traverse through a long and exhausting stretch of slippery moss-covered rock. From the Nyamuleju rock shelter, Mount Stanley and Mount Speke can be seen before passing into the zone of the giant heather, lobelia and groundsel. Finally reach John Matte Hut after passing through the tiring bog, for dinner and overnight at the hut.

John Maatte (3505m asl)

From John Matte Hut the trail drops down to cross the Bujuku River and enters Lower Bigo Bog, the home of giant lobelias. Jumping from tussock to tussock, the bog is finally crossed but rarely without the feet sampling some of the freezing ooze below. This camp is good for acclimatization for clients attempting the summits of peaks Mount Stanley and Mount Speke. Dinner and overnight at Bujuku hut. Dinner and overnight at Bujuku Hut.

Leaving Bujuku, the trail takes you through more bog, while climbing the steep slopes west of the lake and through the magical and forest of Groundsel Gully. Turn to your right up to Elena Hut and Mount Stanley on a steep trail over large boulders, while the trail on your left leads to Scott-Elliot Pass and down to Kitandara Lakes the trail on he left leads those who are not climbing Margherita Peak to Kitandara Hut. Dinner and overnight at the coolly and Icy Elena Hut.

Elena Hut (4541m asl)

Very early in the morning, you attempt climbing the highest peak, Margherita of Mount Stanley. To reach the summit of Margherita, the climb takes about 4 -5 hours Acclimatized to fog, altitude sickness and coolly weather, scramble up to the summit of Margherita the highest peak of the Rwenzori mountains. The Descend from Margherita peak back to Elena Hut will take you about 2 – 3hours. Dinner and overnight at Kitandara Hut.

Kitandara(4430m asl)

From Kitandara, take on the trail that ascends steeply up the headwall, spreading out from the base of Mount Baker and continuing along the south side of the mountain to Fresh field Pass 4282m asl. Thereafter start the descend through steep rocky trails and the rock shelter at Bujongolo, the base camp for the historic expedition by the Duke of Abruzzi in 1906 and then an overnight at Guy yeoman camp. Hike duration: 6 – 7 hours. Dinner and overnight at Kitandara Hut.

Guy Yeoman (3261m )

Below Guy Yeoman, the route descends the cliffs of Kichuchu. Continue descending Nyabitaba Camp and complete your trek by the evening to Mihunga gate to end your 7 days Rwenzori Margherita peak summit trip. Upon the arrival, you will be welcomed by the community with the traditional dance celebrating for your success on conquering Rwenzori Mountain that is top most part of Uganda. Our guide driver will be waiting for you and will transfer to Fort portal Town.

Chimpanzee Tracking

After breakfast at 5am, you will travel to Kibale National Park for Chimpanzee tracking. The tracking will start early and takes about two to three hours, depending on the location of the chimps. After the trek you will go back to the resort for lunch. Please note that, covid-19 test will be taken on this day, the doctor will come at the hotel to take the PCR covid-19 test. Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp.
