Akagera National Park, the Park is home to a full quota of the Big Five (lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and leopard). The park has beautiful undulating plains with dense, broad-leafed woodland, lighter acacia woodland, and rolling grassland with an extensive series of lakes linked by papyrus swamps forming a sprawling wetland.

You will visit Volcanoes National Park, the unique opportunity to see gorillas in their natural habitat is unforgettable, some even say life-changing. You will have Golden monkey trekking. The park is home to the endangered Golden monkey species that are only endemic to the Albertine rift where you can find volcanoes national park.
You have water activities on Lake Kivu. You will also visit the Genocide memorial site.

Other than tracking the Golden monkey in Volcanoes National Park, you will visit Nyungwe National Park, a home to chimpanzees, Columbus monkeys, and more than 300 different bird species.

Arrive In Kigali

On your arrival at the Kigali International airport, you will be picked and be transferred for the Covid-19 test (60$ per person) and transfer to your hotel as you wait for your results. Dinner and overnight: Kigali Holiday Hotel

City Tour | Genocide Memorial Visit

After breakfast, we drive back to Kigali and embark on a city tour visiting the Genocide memorial site which gives a brief history of the country you are visiting. After that, you will be driven to Akagera National Park. You will check in for lunch. After lunch, you will have a short game drive on your way to a boat cruise. You will take a boat trip on Lake Ihema to watch Hippos and crocodiles in the water or by the shores. Dinner and overnight at Dereva Hotel

Morning Game Drive In Akagera

We arise early and leave right after breakfast for a game drive in Akagera national park. We will be searching for big mammals like Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes, several Antelope species, and recently the re-introduced Lions and Rhinos. The park is a varied habitat for wildlife and a birders haven with over 500 bird species in the park. At around mid-day, we drive back to Kigali. You will have lunch on your way to Kigali. Travel To North

After breakfast, drive northwards to Volcanoes National Park. On your arrival in Musanze, you will visit the Dian Fossey Center. In the evening you will visit the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village for community interaction to enjoy the Rwandan culture including the traditional dance. Dinner and overnight stay at Garden Palace Hotel

Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing in the morning together with your trekking gear and drinking water and ascend in the forest to trek the Gorillas. Volcanoes National Park is known for its ultimate primate safaris where tourists will get to see a number of primate species. There are twelve gorilla families living in the Volcanoes National Park, which are fully habituated, with a few others habituated solely for scientific research.

Golden Monkey Trekking

After breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing in the morning together and ascend in the forest to track the golden monkeys. While participating in golden money trekking you will get to find out interesting facts about golden money that will make your Rwanda tour interesting. After lunch you will drive to a scenic Lake Kivu bordering Rwanda and DR Congo. After reaching the lake you will enjoy the rest of your evening at the lakeside.

Morning Activities

This morning after breakfast you will do either the Kayaking or boat ride on Lake Kivu and drive to Nyungwe National Park You will En-route to test again for PCR Covid-19 for your required PCR results on your departure date,(US $50 per person). You will have lunch on the way and thereafter continue to Nyungwe National Park, Park arriving for the canopy walk and is the first of its kind in East Africa and third on the continent after South Africa and Ghana.

Chimpanzee Trekking

Take an early morning breakfast then with your packed lunch drive to this park for the starting point of your chimpanzee trek. Two species of chimpanzee occur in Africa. There is the Bonobo and the Common Chimpanzee Pan troglodytes (often shortened to Chimpanzee, and sometimes referred to as the Robust Chimpanzee). After Chimpanzee trekking, you will have lunch, and then drive back to Kigali for your night departure flight back home.
