On this Mount Kilimanjaro day hike, you will hike up the Marangu Route to Mandara Hut for lunch. You will NOT reach the top. All short treks are offered on a private basis and can be started any day of the year. Marangu is home to black-and-white colobus monkeys living in the branches of tropical trees growing along the trail.

Kilimanjaro Day Hike Itinerary
After a 3-4 hour hike, you will reach Mandara Hut (2700m), where you will have a well-earned rest and lunch, followed by a short hike (15 minutes walk) to the Maundi Crater, to enjoy wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Northern Tanzania, and Kenya. Later you will return to the Marangu Gate (2-3 hours walk), where your vehicle will be waiting for your transfer back to your hotel. On the way back you can enjoy the sunset and the day‘s memories.
